The United States Postal Service posts it’s official holidays here. If the holiday falls on a Sunday, the holiday is usually observed on Monday. If the holiday falls on Saturday, then the holiday is observed on that Saturday. The observed holidays are listed in the tables below. Holiday Mail-by deadlines

These are the last recommended dates to mail packages and letters to ensure delivery by December 25th (Christmas). Mail-by dates mean you must bring your package to the post office by that day to make the Christmas deadline.

Is there mail delivery on June 10th?

YES, there will be mail on June 10th if it doesn’t fall on a Sunday. June 10th is not a federal holiday, however, Juneteenth is. “Juneteenth” often misheard as June 10th. Juneteenth occurs on June 19th, and was made a federal holiday in 2021 to commemorate the end of slavery in the United States after the Civil War. Its name is a portmanteau of “June” and “nineteenth”, as it is celebrated on the anniversary of June 19, 1865. Post offices will close on Juneteenth.

Is the post office open on Good Friday?

YES - The post office will be open on Good Friday. Mail will also be delivered on that day. This year, Good Friday occurs on April 18th, 2025.

Easter can fall as early as March 22 and as late as April 25, there are no postal holidays in March or April. Good Friday is not a federal holiday (though it may be a state one) and will not affect your post office hours or mail delivery.

Is mail delivered on Flag Day?

YES - Mail is delivered on Flag Day, which is June 14th. It is not a national holiday, so mail will be delivered unless June 14th falls on a Sunday, when USPS normally does not deliver.

Flag Day is one of six days each year that Postal Service facilities are required to fly the POW-MIA flag, which is flown below the US flag. The flag honors the sacrifices made by members of the armed forces held as prisoners of war or listed as missing in action.

Does mail run on Black Friday?

YES, you will get mail and packages delivered on Black Friday. USPS, UPS, and FedEx all deliver on Black Friday. Black Friday occurs in November, the day after Thanksgiving, in the United States. It is not a federal holiday, but rather a day that retailers have used to promote sales and discounted prices to kick off the Christmas shopping season.
