Shipped with AMAUS — What It Means and How to Track It

2 min read

If you ordered from Amazon and your tracking says “Shipped with AMAUS”, it means Amazon is delivering the package itself — not handing it off to USPS, UPS, or FedEx. AMAUS stands for Amazon Logistics US.

Your package will arrive in a blue Amazon-branded van or through an independent driver using the Amazon Flex program with their own vehicle.

You may see other abbreviations depending on the country: AMAUK for the United Kingdom, TBC prefixes for Canada, TBM for Mexico. In the US you might also see AMZL_US. Once the package is on a truck, the status usually changes from “Shipped with AMAUS” to “Delivery by Amazon.”

How to track an AMAUS package

Your AMAUS tracking number starts with TBA followed by 12 digits — for example, TBA010284627509.

To find it:

  1. Go to Your Orders on Amazon.
  2. Click “Track package” on the order.

You’ll see the Tracking ID and a progress bar showing where your package is in the delivery process.

Amazon also has a standalone tracking page at track.amazon.com where you can enter the TBA number directly, though it doesn’t always work for every shipment.

Why Amazon uses its own delivery network

Amazon built its own logistics operation — warehouses, delivery vans, and a fleet of over 80 cargo aircraft — to control costs and delivery speed. When you see AMAUS on your tracking, it simply means your package is staying within Amazon’s network from warehouse to doorstep instead of being handed to a third-party carrier.

Frequently asked questions

What does AMAUS stand for? Amazon Logistics United States.

Is AMAUS the same as USPS? No. AMAUS is Amazon’s own delivery service. USPS is the United States Postal Service. They are separate carriers.

My AMAUS tracking isn’t updating — what do I do? Amazon Logistics tracking can lag behind the actual package location. If your estimated delivery date hasn’t passed yet, wait. If it has, contact Amazon customer service through the order page.

Can I track AMAUS packages on third-party tracking sites? Usually not. TBA tracking numbers are internal to Amazon and don’t work on USPS, UPS, or FedEx tracking pages. Use track.amazon.com or the Your Orders page.
